Meet Ruth
I know there are many opinions about the online world, but I am a big fan of the internet! Why? Because I have witnessed firsthand the incredible work God can do through spaces like this.
Just 15 years ago, I was a young mom sitting in my living room in Sylvania, Ohio feeling rather alone when I discovered something that felt revolutionary to me at the time: I could reach another mom across the globe who might be feeling as isolated as I was by sharing my encouragement through a newer type of platform called “a blog”. So August 1, 2011, TheBetterMom.com was born. I never imagined that God would use that simple “yes” to reach millions of moms around the world and expand my ministry in such remarkable ways.
Now, from my cozy home in a vibrant college town in Southeast Michigan, I write books, record podcasts and courses, and train other creatives to do what I do. Although I faced the heartbreak of losing my husband of 25 years, Patrick, to a six-year battle with cancer in January 2024, I continue to cherish each day with my children, two adorable pugs, and loyal Labrador retriever learning to love my life one day at a time. Because life’s too short not to love it.
You can call me an Author, CEO, Podcaster, Influencer, and more, but I prefer you simply call me Friend. Because well, I’m just so glad you’re here and I can’t wait to get to know you better.
